About the Event

Let yourself find a rhythm of rest and rejuvenation as you sink into the deeply rooted energy of Mount Shasta. Just as our bodies have energy centers, so does the earth. Mount Shasta is considered the Root Chakra of the earth.

If a restful retreat in Mount Shasta is calling to your heart, I'd love for you to join me!

Included in this retreat:

  • 5 days & 4 nights in a private glamping yurt with all the amenities (click here for pictures and more);
  • welcome community dinner the first night to meet your host and the 6-12 people on the land with you;
  • personal time to shift from doing to being -- allow spaciousness and silence to be your teacher;
  • resources to support your preparation, deepen your practices of restorative rest, and reflection while on retreat;
  • personalized 1:1 sound healing session with Joy with guided breathwork, body/nature awareness, intention setting, and powerful resonance for releasing ancestral trauma and connecting with ancestral healing;
  • guided magical night walk on October 31, where together we tune into the energy of Samhain with Celtic contemplation and forest bathing, accompanied by the celestial sounds of alchemy crystal singing bowls.

Recognizing the rhythm of the seasons as a source of healing for our mind, body, and spirit, open your heart to the messages Mount Shasta has to offer you on Samhain. Samhain (October 31) is a Celtic celebration of the midpoint between autumn equinox and winter solstice, marking the beginning of the Celtic new year, as well as the start of the dark half of the year. Many cultures honor this turn toward winter and thinness between worlds: Samhain, Halloween, Día de los Muertos, All Saint’s Day, and more.

Are you ready to root deeply into the energy of Mount Shasta for 5 days and 4 nights?

Cost: $888 per person in a private yurt. Want to bring someone and share your yurt? Folks traveling together who want to share a yurt each receive a 33% discount on your retreat registration. This retreat is limited to 6-12 participants staying in 6 private yurts. You can reserve your yurt with a $200 deposit.

As a small step towards acknowledging the history of genocide on this land and contributing to its healing, 5% of the proceeds from this retreat will be donated to RUN4SALMON, "A prayerful journey led by Chief Caleen Sisk of the Winnemem Wintu Tribe to restore our salmon runs, protect our waters, and our indigenous lifeways." And to support access to the healing spaces of Hestia Retreat Center, 5% of the proceeds will be donated to the Hestia Community Wellness Fund to provide wellness scholarships for BIPOC activists, healers, community leaders, and change makers.

Your Hosts:

Joy & her wife, Elaine, have been drawn back to Mount Shasta time and time again for over a decade. We love introducing folks to Mount Shasta, the waters, the trees, and the deeply restorative rest that comes from spending time with the land that was, is and always will be the ancestral territory of the Shasta and Karuk people.

Joy Evans, MSW (she/her) combines trauma healing practices with sound and forest therapy to lead people out of the perpetual stress response, to reconnect with the details of the senses and return to clarity, centered self, and calm.

Joy has a deep commitment to restorative practices. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; is a certified sound healer and forest therapy guide; and just completed her third year of study with the School of Celtic Consciousness. Joy welcomes folks from all backgrounds, especially LGBTQ+ and BIPOC to her in-person and virtual offerings.
